Alexander Vasilievich Burdak is the author of many widely known hybrid forms of grapes. Currently, an amateur breeder has already crossed more than 300 varieties and hybrid forms.
Features of hybrid varieties
A significant part of the plants bred by A.V. Burdak belongs to the category of very complex interspecific hybrids. These grape varieties are perfectly adapted for growing on personal plots and demonstrate good yield, high quality berries and unpretentious care.
Another important advantage of hybrid forms, the author of which is A.V. Burdak, is their high resistance to low temperature in winter. Almost all the bred hybrids have winter resistance up to 23-24 ° C of frost, thanks to which, when cultivated in the southern regions of Ukraine and Russia, vineyards can not be covered for the winter.
The best hybrid forms: Vatican, Senator, Dixon, Cleopatra and others
All the bred hybrid forms have very good external data, as well as remarkable taste characteristics, which makes A.V. Burdak grapes in demand among amateur gardeners.

Planting material can be planted both in the spring and in the fall, until the main frost. Seedlings planted in the autumn period are better rooted before the onset of frost. In the spring, it is allowed to propagate grapes by layering. Autumn is planted in October. Under grape planting, it is advisable to divert the most sunny and elevated areas that are protected from drafts.
When growing grapes, the following measures should be followed:
- grape bushes should be regularly watered before flowering, followed by mulching around the plants;
- complex fertilizers and organics are used as top dressings;
- pruning of bushes is recommended in late autumn, shortening shoots by 6-8 eyes.
It is very important to shelter young and unstable to frost plants in the winter. Data on the indices of resistance of new hybrid forms to various diseases have not yet been fully confirmed, therefore, preventive spraying of bushes should be carried out without fail.
Reviews of winegrowers on the varieties Catalonia, Syndicate, Gordey, Raja and others from the catalog of A.V. Bourdaka
Currently, one of the most successful hybrid forms developed by Alexander Vasilievich, according to most wine growers, is grapes "Senator." Bushes are very powerful and vigorous. The shoots are thrown out one bunch, so there is no need to normalize the plants. The sugar content of the juice is 14-18%, and the taste of the berries is very delicate, aromatic and pleasant. The pulp of the grapes is dense and fleshy. Bursting and peas berries are completely absent.
Good reviews can be heard from winegrowers about the hybrid form "Catalonia", which is distinguished by strong growth, large dark purple berries with dense and crisp flesh. The taste is very harmonious and pleasant, sugar accumulation is high. All characteristics make this hybrid form one of the best for ultra-early production.
Most of the new hybrid forms of grapes, bred by the amateur amateur breeder A.V. Burdak, attract winegrowers with their external data and excellent taste characteristics. Of the latest hybrid forms of particular interest Danae, Bruno, Nicole, Nelson, Eleanor, and "Zarina." However, at the moment, all of these hybrid forms belong to the category of little-studied, so it is too early to share impressions and reviews.
