Landing requirements

According to the description of the varieties, raspberries can be planted both in spring and in autumn according to the established technology:

  • raspberry seedlings should be placed in an array, placing berry bushes along the hedge;
  • under raspberries, a site with loamy or sandy loam, sufficiently moist and breathable soil is allocated;
  • so that raspberries are as little affected by diseases and bring stable and high yields, plants should be well ventilated and shined with the sun;
  • the basic planting plan for raspberry seedlings is 3 x 0.25 m, but it is allowed to use a two-line planting of berry bushes on a personal plot according to the scheme 3.5 x 0.5 x 0.25 m;

Raspberry "Glen Ampl": variety description

  • the pit for planting should correspond to the size of the root system of seedlings or be slightly larger;
  • the final stage of planting is abundant watering at the rate of at least a bucket of water for each berry plant;
  • after planting raspberries in early spring, shorten the tops of the shoots by about 15-20 cm.

Immediately after planting, raspberry bushes need to be mulched with manure, humus or peat, a standard layer of 6-8 cm. A good result is obtained by using chopped straw or sawdust as a mulch with a layer of 10-15 cm. Mulching improves soil quality and facilitates plant care.

Care Rules

Care for planting productive remontant raspberries comes down to regular loosening of the soil, fertilizing, watering and timely weed control:

  • it is recommended to water raspberries rarely, but quite abundantly, since the root system of the berry bush should grow as well as possible, not only in breadth, but also inland;
  • raspberries respond very positively to the timely application of organic and mineral fertilizers;
  • the best organic fertilizer for highly productive varieties is well-rotted manure, which should be applied in early spring at the rate of 2.5-3.5 kg per square meter;
  • planting between rows of raspberries of green plants has a very high efficiency;
  • in early spring, even before the phase of mass budding of the buds, raspberries and soil under the bushes should be sprayed with a 3% Bordeaux mixture or a 0.5-1% solution of the preparation "Copper chloride."

The complete removal of the aerial part of the berry bushes after fruiting contributes to the maintenance of the annual raspberry crop formation cycle.

Grade Reviews

According to the observation of experienced gardeners, Scottish raspberries are very well developed and bear fruit abundantly when grown on medium and light loamy soils with a sufficient humus content.

The best feeding system for young and already fruiting raspberries is a competent combination of organic and mineral fertilizers, which must be applied under the plants annually.
